High Class Volunteers Wear High Heels!

The YWCA of Banff held it's first ever Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event on September 11th, 2009. The event "helps women and their children take steps to walk away from domestic violence" (www.walkamile.ca).

Bow Valley volunteers came out in droves to support this cause. There were roughly 60 men who donned high heel shoes to walk around Banff Central Park and make good on their donation pledges.

Volunteers enjoyed a day in the sun helping to set up the event, run the check-in table, shoe collection table, and donation tables. Some volunteers even got to chaperone some of the walkers so they wouldn't have a tumble. Other volunteers ran a BBQ to assist in the fundraising.
