Organizations: Leadership Learning Tailored to Your Needs

You’re a leader, right?
You’re going to want to check out the Knowledge Connector

KnowledgeConnector was created to help organizations meet their missions much more easily by providing them with a service that is tailored to their learning needs. The ultimate result for those leaders who use the Knowledge Connector is that they will be able to identify ways to enhance capacity, build organizational resources and strengthen communities. It is a ‘one-stop shop’ that enables leaders to locate a wide range of professional development and leadership opportunities.  Learners will be able to find targeted learning in line with specific interests, needs and training objectives.

The KnowledgeConnector project is passionate about providing Alberta’s nonprofit sector leaders with the tools to successfully tackle leadership challenges and knowledge transfer. KnowledgeConnector guides organizations and individuals by connecting them to tailored leadership learning specifically designed for decision makers and influencers involved in nonprofit/voluntary sector roles such as board members, association executives, and engaged community leaders.

Learning is a lifelong process that transforms skills and knowledge helps organizations better achieve their missions.   Check out the A.S.K Leadership Assessment, and help yourself to more effectively determine your professional development needs as it relates to learning.

This assessment is vital to developing stronger leaders and sustainable communities – most of all inspiring personal growth and lifelong learning.

Building ONE Workforce is an outstanding opportunity not only for our organizations, but also for the community as a whole. This workshop presents the opportunity to more effectively lead our own organizations as well as to rethink HOW we work with people (both staff and volunteer).

This workshop will look at how your organizations can engage and learn to work with specifically skilled people and lead your organization to the next level. Check out these video success stories about other groups who work in a People-First culture.

Remember: the potential for community impact is greater when more minds are involved in a collective knowledge base shift!

Building ONE Workforce is highly recommended for leaders of non-profit organizations, including Board Members and actively engaged volunteers. To have the greatest impact on your organization I recommend 3 people from your organization participate in the workshop.

Tickets are limited – only 10 organization tickets are available – register now to secure your spot!

Organizations | Introducing SCIP: a great opportunity to help grow our community!

A Win-Win for Students and Communities!

Alberta has a new internship program for post-secondary students to build     their skills while they share them with community organizations.  In addition, students will get a $1,000 bursary for completing an internship with one of the province’s nonprofit/voluntary organizations.

This is a great opportunity for nonprofit/ voluntary organizations to access a new pool of talented individuals.

For more details on how you can get involved, visit the SCiP website!

The Serving Communities Internship Program, or SCiP, is being run in collaboration with Volunteer Alberta, who work with nonprofit/voluntary organizations to build their human resource capacity.  Volunteer Alberta will mentor these organizations to create internships meaningful to both the student and the sector.

The goal is to create a wide variety of significant internship experiences that allow students to set themselves up for successful careers and help nonprofit/voluntary sector organizations access a new pool of very talented and skilled individuals. SCiP is open to post-secondary students enrolled in any certificate, diploma, undergraduate, graduate or PhD program at one of Alberta’s 26 publicly funded post-secondary institutions.

SCiP provides meaningful internships for Alberta’s post-secondary students in the voluntary/ nonprofit sector. The Government of Alberta in partnership with Voluntary Alberta awards each student with a $1000 bursary at the end of the internship.

Applications will be accepted in the fall. So check back for more details!
