Banff World Media Festival 

Festival dates: June 10th – June 13th, 2012

Bringing leaders from the evolving media landscape to Banff for this outstanding media industry festival.

The Banff World Media Festival began as an intimate space where unparalleled access and cutting-edge insight could combine to forge relationships, launch new business and aid the ambitious members of a dynamic industry in reaching their goals.

Shifts: each shift is a minimum of 4 hours, choose shift options of morning, midday, evening

Requirements: a minimum commitment of 2 volunteer shifts are required, volunteers will be trained and scheduled

SUMMER PROGRAM VOLUNTEERS

From pre-school young ones, to junior high school youth, and everything in-between, The Town of Banff Summer Programs see upwards of 100 local kids coming through our programs daily. Based out of the Banff Elementary School our leaders program nature hikes, art projects, special events, field trips, gym jams, and cook-off’s, and are ALWAYS looking for extra leadership hands.

SCHOOL-YEAR YOUTH LEADERSHIP VOLUNTEERS

Our afterschool and holiday break programs encourage local youth in grades 6-12 to take on a leadership role within programs. Assisting kids with homework, program projects, and social interactions, is a great way to gain valuable skills in the child care/camp leader industry.

SPECIAL EVENT VOLUNTEERS

Our Children and Youth Program Team plan and execute local events like Family Day, National Youth Week, and other holiday celebrations. We are always looking for event day volunteers to assist with recreational activities, bake sales, and craft projects.

Volunteer for the Rocky Mountain Wine & Food Festival!

It’s deliciously easy!

With fantastic perks, this is a really fun way to give a few hours and volunteer, PLUS enjoy everything this delicious event has to offer!

With about 80 positions, there are lots of different opportunities for you AND your friends to get involved!  Volunteer shifts are either 3 / 5 hours. We love that you are donating your valuable time, so please be sure to check out how we will THANK YOU!

There are 3 Grand Tasting Hall sessions to choose from: evening of Friday May 4th, afternoon of Saturday May 5th or evening of Saturday May 5th.

  • Complete a 3 hour shifts and receive one (1) entrance ticket to the Grand Tasting Hall session of your choice, plus $20 in sampling coupons!
  • Complete a 5 hour shift and receive two (2) entrance tickets to the Grand Tasting Hall session of your choice, plus $30 in sampling coupons!

This is a great way to have fun volunteering with friends so you can enjoy the event together – Please pass this along to anyone you know that might be interested.

A little more about the event:

The Rocky Mountain Wine & Food Festival Grand Tasting Hall offers the finest in local cuisine prepared by some of the top Banff and Lake Louise restaurants and hotels along with an extensive selection of unique wines, high quality ports, fine single-malt scotch, imported beer and premium spirits. Beginners, intermediates, and connoisseurs will have the rare opportunity to learn more about their favourites from industry experts in a casual and social atmosphere.

The show will be taping at the Banff Centre’s Eric Harvie Theatre and there are a variety of Volunteer roles available – sign up TODAY, volunteer roles will fill up quickly!

 

Volunteer Information

Volunteer Orientation:

When: March 31 from 4:00pm – 5:00pm
Where: Eric Harvie Theatre, Banff Centre

*ALL volunteers must attend this meeting to receive detailed instructions and apparel.


Volunteer Positions:

Indoor Theatre Positions

Work inside the Eric Harvie Theatre !

Position Requirements:
Volunteers MUST commit to working both April 1 & 2 from 6:30am – 3:30pm

Outdoor Hosts

There will not be any parking available at the Banff Centre, volunteers will be needed to direct traffic near the Banff Centre. Shuttle buses will be Transporting Eric Harvie Theatre audience participants to the taping, volunteers will host these guests at various locations in Banff.

Position Requirements:
Volunteer shifts are  April 1 & 2 from 6:30am – 12:00pm

This will be an outdoor role, please be prepared to dress for the weather!
Please indicate if you have access to a vehicle when applying to volunteer.

….by volunteering at the YWCA’s Easter Party!

10-15 fun, playful awesome people who love kids, crafts AND chocolate are needed!

Date: Sunday, April 8th
Time: 1:00pm-5:00pm

Volunteer to “connect-the-event-dots” and: 

  • craft with kids
  • paint faces
  • decorate eggs
  • AND help with the Easter Egg Hunt!
